While I would reccommend the Radeon 9600 over a Radeon 9200, I've heard of no real problems running Guild Wars on the Radeon 9200. It's a nice solution if you're not interested in spending large amounts of money.

SAPPHIRE 100566 Radeon 9800SE 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card
ATI Radeon 9200 128 MB AGP 128MB
REFURBISHED: SAPPHIRE 100566L-Red Radeon 9800SE 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card
SAPPHIRE 1024-MC07L Radeon 9800SE 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card
SAPPHIRE 1024-1C47 Radeon 9800 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card

Please help me sort the good cards and the bad ones.

For 80 dollars that is a very good buy, that is the lowest video card I would suggest for a smooth ride. As for installing it im sure many people here could walk you through it.
This guide is a bit complicated, but the first few steps are great. http://www.directron.com/howtovideo.html

I know people who can run this game with Geforce FX 5200's, and some with even less powerful graphics cards. That should be fine for running Guild Wars. You made a good choice choosing a Chaintech card, by the way, they are my favourite Nvidia providers next to XFX.

256mB RAM sounds very low, and with an integrated graphics card too you may have a lot of problems running guild wars. If possible, could you tell us exactly which graphics processor it is?

I was just wondering if the game would run and be playable on my computer.
Windows XP
Pentium 4

248 mb RAM
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
If someone could help me, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Does anyone have any experience running GW on a laptop? Specifically looking for SiS Mirage 2 shared 128 meg video. I know that there are issues with the intel integrated graphics but havent heard about SiS.
Thanks

Hi LLL,
It should work fine on your laptop with the 9000 series IGP you have there as I have a laptop along side my Desktop with the same IGP and it runs perfectly.
As for the memory though of 382, i would recommend at least upping that to 512mb especially with XP running on the system. It's one resource hungry OS and more often than not, has gobbled most of the Ram up if you have a few other programs running at the same time.
